What services do you offer?

Snout and About Chicago offers dog sitting services. These include dog sitting (multi-day overnight sits in your home), daycare in a sitter’s home (up to 8 hours), and day sitting in your home (offered in two hour increments). You can read more on our Services page.


Who will be watching my dog if I work with Snout and About Chicago?

Currently, Snout and About Chicago is a team of one! Alison - owner and founder - cares for all dogs that book with Snout and About Chicago.

At Snout and About Chicago, we are committed to providing custom care that supports your needs. We understand that some dogs — and their people — have had less-than-ideal past experiences with care. At Snout and About Chicago, we are committed to offering a patient, thoughtful approach that prioritizes clear communication and consistency. How can I contact you?


Can we meet our sitter before booking services?

Yes! All new clients will receive a complimentary 30-minute meet and greet before booking any services. This is mainly to ensure that you, your dog, and any other members of your family have a chance to meet and make sure we’re a good match ahead of booking any sort of services.

FAQs (Rates and Pricing)

What are your rates for your different services?

All rates for services can be found on our Services page. If you have questions about pricing for a specific service, please contact us to discuss further and receive a quote.

Services can be scheduled with a start and end time between 7am and 8pm on the dates of service. For services that require a start time earlier or later than this window, there will be an added $5 fee to the date of service.


Do rates change based on dates of services?

Yes, services requested on weekdays and weekends have different rates. You can find our rates list on the Services page. There is also a daily surcharge for services requested on holidays.


Are there additional fees for services requested on holidays?

Yes. For holiday service requests, an added fee per service will be added onto the rates listed on our services page.

For services requested on New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, MLK Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day, a surcharge of $15 per day will be applied to the services requested.

For services requested on Thanksgiving Day, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day, a surcharge of $25 per day will be applied to the services requested. Please note that availability for these holidays are limited given we are a team of one.


What is your cancellation policy?

We require seven days notice for complete cancellation of dog sitting services. For daycare in the sitter’s home, or day sitting in your home, we request two days notice prior to cancellation. Services that are canceled outside the designated timeframes listed will incur a cancellation fee.


Do you offer a calendar of availability?

Currently, being a single provider, we do not offer a calendar of availability but rather confirm bookings via email. You can share the desired dates for services when submitting the Contact Us form, or via email.

What equipment do you have experience with for dog handling?

We have experience working with a variety of equipment, including gentle leaders, head haltis, prong collars, muzzles, infinity leads, easy walk harnesses, and more. If your dog requires additional equipment when being handled beyond a standard leash, collar / harness, let us know during our meet and greet.


Is there any equipment that you do not work with when handling dogs?

We’re always happy to do our best to accommodate equipment requests and want your dog to be comfortable and safe. That said, we strongly prefer using standard, non-retractable leashes for walks. If you have questions on equipment, please contact us.


Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?

Yes, Snout and About Chicago LLC is licensed, bonded and insured. We are happy to provide copies of that documentation upon request.


Are you trained in pet CPR and first aid?

Yes, we are certified in pet CPR and first aid and are prepared to respond quickly and appropriately in the event of an emergency when caring for your dog.
